Overview

The African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) actively participated in the Nanenane Agricultural Farmers Exhibitions 2025, held in Tanzania. The annual event brought together farmers, agribusiness stakeholders, and development partners to celebrate innovation, share knowledge, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

At the AICAD exhibition stand, visitors were warmly received and briefed by Mr. Florence Rugimbana, Programme Officer, who highlighted AICAD’s vision, mission, and ongoing programme activities implemented across Tanzania. The discussions centered on how AICAD’s initiatives continue to empower communities through training, research, and value addition.

A variety of value-added products were displayed and sold by AICAD’s ex-trainees from HKT Mama Kwanza Group, Morogoro Food Processors Cluster, Raha Leo Foods, and Sech Food Products. These entrepreneurs, who had benefited from AICAD’s training programs, showcased innovations in food processing and packaging — a testament to the Institute’s impact in promoting agribusiness and self-reliance.

During the event, Mr. Pilot Msemwa engaged visitors by showcasing AICAD publications and explaining the organization’s key activities and regional initiatives. Visitors also had the opportunity to sign the AICAD guest book, symbolizing growing interest and collaboration among participants.

One of the highlights of the exhibitions was the participation of Ms. Stella Gwasa, an AICAD ex-trainee, who was interviewed by the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC). She shared her inspiring journey of transformation through AICAD’s training, emphasizing how skills in value addition have improved her productivity and income.
