About The Department

The research and development activities broadly falls into three thematic areas. These are:

  • Agriculture, water resources management, environment conservation and climate change
  • Food security, natural resources management and industry process/enterprise development/value addition
  • Community development, policy and policy implementation including cross-cutting issues

In this respect, the R&D division made a number of milestones. They include:

  1. Technical and financial support to universities and research organisations
  2. Implementation of projects’ calls

  1. Promotion of research output to users
  2. Commercial exploitation of KTI
  3. Development and application of Intellectual Property Rights
