Brief Description: – 

The African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) hosted the VizAfrica 2024 Conference from 5th to 7th February 2024 at its premises within the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya. AICAD presently serves as the home for the Africa Open Science Platform (AOSP) East African Node, dedicated to advancing open science initiatives at a regional level.

The primary objectives of the AOSP East African Node include supporting and promoting the implementation of open science programs, strengthening knowledge networks and infrastructure access, and fostering collaboration between regions and globally. The VizAfrica Conference 2024, organized as part of the AOSP Node’s activities, delves into the theme “Data stewardship and use for scientific and socio-economic development.”
