Cultural and Educational Experiences

As part of their visit to Uganda, the AICAD Governing Board delegation, led by Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda, also took time to explore key cultural and educational landmarks, including the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo and the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (Entebbe Zoo).

At the Martyrs Shrine, members reflected on Uganda’s rich Christian heritage and the enduring values of faith, resilience, and service that continue to inspire generations across East Africa. The spiritual experience provided a deeper understanding of Uganda’s historical journey and its influence on the country’s educational and social fabric.

Later, at the Wildlife Conservation Education Centre, the Board members had a firsthand encounter with Uganda’s diverse wildlife and conservation initiatives. The visit offered valuable insights into the country’s ongoing efforts to balance biodiversity conservation with sustainable development, reinforcing the connection between environmental stewardship and community well-being.

These cultural and educational excursions underscored AICAD’s holistic approach to development — one that values not only technical and academic advancement but also the cultural, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable growth. The experiences served as a reminder of the interconnectedness between people, nature, and development — key pillars in AICAD’s mission to foster empowered and resilient communities across Africa.
